Orofacial Pain

Researchers have reported that chronic pain of the mouth and/or the face affects 7% of the population. It is more prevalent in women, and is most prevalent among young adults. Adults with orofacial pain are more likely to report depression, stress, and adverse life events. There is a strong link between orofacial pain and oral contraceptive use and hormone replacement therapy.1
